  Before departure, check the validity of your passport and extend it if necessary. 

  Photocopy the first four pages, as well as the plane ticket and the list of travellers cheques numbers. Keep two passport photos for unplanned documents.

• Hand luggage

  Before your trip, don’t forget to check the size and the weight of your cabin baggage. In general, only hand baggage is accepted.

  Also be sure to check:

  • items allowed and prohibited in cabin and cargo compartment (subject to the special provisions of the airlines).
  • preparation of liquids, aerosols and gels for security checks in your cabin baggage.

  Don't forget to put your liquids in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100 ml each in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a capacity not exceeding one litre.

• Hold baggage

  Make sure you have no prohibited item in your check-in baggage.

  Check the maximum weight allowed of your baggage.

• Your stroller is a special baggage

  If you travel with a stroller, be aware that it will be considered as a special baggage.

  Some airlines offer the possibility to check-in your baggage the day before! To know if this is possible for your flight, please see your airline’s notice.

• Transport of baggage by train

  The SBB transport your baggage from one station to another or even door-to-door. You will have your hands free and carefree mind while enjoying your holidays in a relaxed atmosphere.

  From March to October, before taking the plane, as an accompanying person or as a visitor of the airport, go to the Panorama public terrace to enjoy a breath-taking view of the tarmac and the Jura.

  The playground is located between gates A5 and A8, our dear little passengers aged three to twelve can now enjoy a friendly and fun space organised around the theme of the airport. They can enjoy the view of the runway from the control tower or the baggage belt; this area will delight kids of all ages!

• Taxis in Geneva

  Taxis in Geneva can be ordered by phone, hailed in the street or found at about 60 authorised taxi ranks in town, airport and main station. Fares between airport and city range from about 35 CHF to 45 CHF and depend on traffic conditions, time of day and number of passengers.

• Rent a car

  Car rental in the Swiss Sector
  Car rental counters in the Swiss Sector are located at the Arrivals level, towards the Post Office.

  Attention: if you rent a car in Switzerland and return it in the French Sector, the car rental company may charge you a fee.

• Leave the airport by train

  Choose your train to comfortably reach all regions of Switzerland.

  The CFF Railway station of Genève Aéroport is directly accessible from Check-in and Arrivals. 

  All trains to or from Genève Aéroport stop downtown, in Genève-Aéroport station. The journey time is seven minutes.

• Leave the airport by bus

  Genève Aéroport is less than 4 km from downtown Geneva. It is easy to get there by train or bus thanks to unireso unified public transport network.
  
  The TPG  urban buses serve the airport (stops at Check-in level, in front or on the side of the CFF station), with a frequency of 8-15 minutes at peak hours.

• Change the diapers of your children

  If your child needs to be changed, changing tables are available towards the baggage belt and in most restrooms of the airport.
