The first Meisterstück was launched in 1924, back when Montblanc was still called Simplo. Coincidentally, the artisans who had spent years perfecting their craft were already developing unique writing instruments for themselves. These creations, showcasing highly advanced craftsmanship, were called Meisterstück, which means "masterpiece" in German. This is how the first Meisterstück collection was born, quickly achieving the status of a cultural icon.
However, 1924 was not just the year the Meisterstück was created. It was also the first time the city of Paris hosted the Olympic Games, and it marked the launch of the first Winter Olympics in Chamonix, at the foot of Mont-Blanc. To embellish the collection, several elements from artworks of the 1924 Summer and Winter Olympics were used. The decorative elements surrounding the upper cap are derived from posters, while the designs on the nibs come from the cover of the summer program (javelin thrower) and an advertising poster (ski jumper) for the Winter Games.
For this edition, the logo featuring the word "Heritage" is displayed as a symbol of the past Games.
