The city has several museums dedicated to the treasures of ancient Egypt. In the centre of Cairo, the Egyptian Museum houses a large collection of Egyptian antiquities, including the famous Tutankhamun treasure and the mummies of the pharaohs.
Cairo's Citadel, which served as the Sultan's fortress and residence, is located in the heart of the city. It houses four museums and a magnificent palace. From the terrace you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the city.
