Geneva Airport offers a rich travel season for Winter 2024/25, with nearly 120 destinations served by 50 airlines. Among them, Air Mauritius stands out with two weekly flights to
Mauritius, a popular destination for escaping the winter.
Long-haul flights to key destinations like
Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa, Doha, Dubai, Montreal, New York, Beijing, and Washington reinforce Geneva’s role as an international hub. These flights support commercial, diplomatic, and cultural exchanges, consolidating the city’s position as the headquarters of global organizations and businesses. Geneva Airport promotes the use of next-generation aircraft on these routes, such as Air China, which will deploy an Airbus A350 on the Geneva-
Beijing route starting at the end of October.
The Canary Islands, a true sunny refuge during the winter, are accessible thanks to direct flights operated by easyJet. Travelers can reach destinations such as
Las Palmas, Lanzarote, and Tenerife, each offering sunny attractions in a unique setting. Less crowded in winter, these islands allow visitors to enjoy a mild climate while exploring varied landscapes and cultural treasures.
This winter, Geneva Airport is expanding its connections with Egypt, offering direct flights to
Cairo Giza, operated by easyJet, close to the pyramids, complementing Egyptair’s direct flight to
Cairo International. A new direct flight to
Marsa Alam on the Red Sea is added to the existing routes to
Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, popular beach resorts known for their beaches and water activities. These new destinations provide travelers with a wide range of cultural or seaside experiences.
Geneva Airport also offers "niche" destinations for travelers seeking a change of scenery. This winter, direct flights make it possible to explore the Far North, with
Tromsø in Norway, ideal for observing the northern lights, and
Kittilä and Rovaniemi in Finland, home to reindeer and Santa Claus.
For culture lovers,
Berlin remains a must-visit destination year-round with its historical and artistic treasures. Swiss is opening a daily direct flight in addition to the one from easyJet, offering more flexibility. Between iconic monuments like the Brandenburg Gate and a dynamic contemporary art scene, Berlin offers a rich cultural experience easily accessible from Geneva.
With this network of direct flights, Geneva Airport strives to offer varied and captivating destinations beyond the classic tourist routes.
