Geneva-Washington with United Airlines


United - www.united.comUnited Airlines and the management of Geneva International Airport are pleased to announce the opening of a United Airlines' Washington-Geneva service from 20 April 2009, from the U.S. capital’s Dulles Airport.

The service will be operated by Boeing B767 aircraft with 6 seats in first class, 26 in business class and 151 in economy class. The planes have been completely renovated and offer in first and business seats that convert into real beds.

"Our service to Geneva provides our customers with convenient access to international business, financial and diplomatic centres that," said Kevin Knight, the airline’s senior vice president - Planning. "We will continue to adjust our capacity to market conditions and seek new opportunities to serve markets that respond to our customers' needs and deliver the results necessary to return us to profitability."

For Robert Deillon, Director General of GVA, the announcement "which comes just after that of the opening of the Air Canada Montreal-Geneva service, demonstrates the attractiveness of the market in Geneva, French-speaking Switzerland and neighbouring France. We are also pleased to welcome the return to Geneva of United Airlines, a prestigious airline. And it also marks the interest that Star Alliance, of which United is a founding member, shows in our hub."
