French sector devoted to air freight
The airport in fact has a French sector devoted to air freight. A customs road links the airport to French territory (commune of Ferney-Voltaire, Ain).
The road enables the various users to send or receive goods quickly without going through border controls and while still remaining subject only to French/European procedures.
Users coming from the departments of Haute-Savoie, Savoie or Isère can take the A41 motorway (from Annecy, Chambéry or Grenoble) to reach the airport freight terminal.
Transit procedures on Swiss territory have been greatly simplified (documents T).
